Picked this rod up for my son as he's curious about my favorite hobby... he was able to learn how to cast a baitcaster comfortably on this rod. Nothing insane in terms of responsiveness, but pleasantly surprised.

Bottom Line

The Laser SG1 offers impressive all-round performance for the price that you're paying. If you're new to baitcasting rods, or just looking for an affordable option, this would make a great candidate.

It may not provide the absolute best in terms of sensitivity or strength, but you're guaranteed to have all that you need to pull in all kinds of bass, and you'll struggle to find a better performer in this price region.
