Superb

The Avid X follows the exceptional reputation of the Avid, but with a slight difference in features. The Avid X has micro guides, which may add a touch of sensitivity. Apart from this, the Avid X has very similar performance to the Avid, which is why it is one of St. Croix's most successful spinning rods.

Estimated price: $219

Both the Avid and the Avid X are exceptional spinning rods - tough to compete with these guys around this price point. St. Croix really did hit the nail on the head with this series.

Bottom Line

The Avid X Series is another rod by St. Croix that has only received positive reviews. The slight difference between this rod and the original Avid Series is that this rod uses micro guides, which many argue to add a bit of sensitivity. This rod should definitely be considered if you're lurking around this price region.
