Reasons to buy

  • Constructed with St. Croix's SCII carbon blank which is really tough and sensitive - it's not their most premium blank, but it's more than adequate in terms of overall performance
  • Coated with Flex-Coat finish, giving the rod a glossy look and increased resistance
  • Sea Guide Atlas Performance stainless steel guides are light and highly-rated
  • Sea Guide reel seat is sturdy and comfortable
  • Many finesse options that are perfect for techniques such as ned rigs, drop shot, shaky heads, or weightless senkos
  • Some have commended the sensitivity of this rod
  • A fast tip with a strong backbone to handle all kinds of fish
  • A class and super comfortable full-cork handle
  • One of the better options in this price region

Reasons not to buy

  • There aren't many reviews on this rod, so we aren't able to give the full lowdown

Been using St. Croix rods for a long time now and I'm impressed with the Triumph... Not the most sensitive but perfect all-purpose rod on the finesse side of things. I usually throw a shaky head or lightly weighted wacky rig with this rod.

Bottom Line

The Triumph by St. Croix looks like a solid contender when lurking around this competitive price point. This is an affordable rod that'll work great for all kinds of finesse techniques and the slightly heavier options will do the job when fishing more power applications. There aren't many reviews on this rod, but from what we can see, everyone seems to love it.
