Summarized feedback from Bass Anglers

Reasons to buy

  • The 100 is the smallest and lightest in the Tatula series
  • Aluminum body with a weight of less than 6.9oz makes this a lightweight dream to fish with
  • Includes Daiwa's successful T-Wing guide system - which many have fallen inlove with
  • Users enjoy the wider line feeder (T-Wing System), which allows line to move more easily
  • Easy to adjust magnetic braking system that counters backlashes with ease
  • The zero-adjust spool knob is there so that all you have to do is adjust the magnetic braking system
  • A great first casting reel if you're new to using them
  • Lighter profile gives anglers the chance to feel the weight of the lure and rod rather than the reel itself
  • A light, compact, and stylish casting reel

Reasons not to buy

  • Casting with lighter lures may be slightly more difficult compared to the Daiwa Tatula SV TW
  • Some users do not enjoy the small spool tension knob, but this is put in place so that anglers only adjust the magnetic braking system on the other side

Love the smaller profile on this reel. Perfect for my finesse casting setup. Really smooth and casts weightless baits nicely.

Bottom Line

The Tatula 100 is a more affordable option in Daiwa's low profile portfolio, but it still provides immense performance, and will definitely give you years of comfortable angling. This is a great reel for newcomers to the baitcasting scene, and inexperienced anglers should be able to cast without getting backlash, provided there is some weight on the lure. This is a stylish, slick looking reel, and should definitely be considered if you're in the casting reel market.
